Get ARBLAST
ARBLAST: AR Team Battle is made for iPhone (from the App Store) and Android (from Google Play). Not in the store yet? Ask the organiser running your game, or email support@arblast.io, for a test invitation. Once it's installed, a match link or QR code opens straight into the game.
Join a match from a link or QR code
Organisers share matches as a link like arblast.io/join?code=K7QW2M or a QR code (on a screen or
printed). Scan it with your phone camera or in the app (PLAY → SCAN QR TO JOIN), or tap
PLAY → JOIN and type the six-character code.
Try it on your own
Open the app and tap SOLO RANGE. Hold the phone sideways in both hands, walk slowly, and tag the RED practice heroes that walk around you. No poster, server or other players needed.
Play a team game
- Print the arena poster at 100% scale on A4 (the venue usually has one up) and stick it flat on a wall at chest height. No printer? The organiser can show it on a TV or laptop instead.
- One player taps PLAY → CREATE GAME; everyone else taps JOIN and scans the QR code or types the 6-letter code.
- Tap ENTER ARENA and point your phone at the poster from 1–3 m away until it locks.
- Ready up. The host starts the match; after the countdown, eliminate the other team. Walk back into your base ring to respawn.
Playing safely
- Walk, don't run. The blaster stops working if you move too fast.
- Stay inside the arena. The app shows the edge and warns you before you reach it.
- The app warns you about walls, steps and players behind you — but keep looking around you, too.
- If the screen says STOP, stop moving. Venue staff can pause every phone at once.
- Play with an adult or venue staff supervising, in a space cleared of trip hazards.
Common problems
The marker won't lock
Make sure it was printed at 100% (not "fit to page"), is flat and well lit, and fills a good part of the screen. Move a step closer and hold still for a second. On a TV or laptop, turn the brightness up and tilt it away from reflections. More on the arena poster page.
"Tracking poor" or "Recalibrating"
Point the camera at walls and floors with some texture or detail and move slowly. Plain white walls and dark rooms are hard for the camera.
"This version of ARBLAST is out of date"
Everyone in a game needs the same version. Update from the App Store or Google Play and try again.
The phone gets hot
The app lowers its graphics quality as the phone warms up and stops play if it gets too hot. Let it cool in the shade between matches.
Privacy
You can play without an account; the player account is optional and only for 13 and over. No camera recording, no location and no chat with strangers. Read the privacy policy, or delete your account.
